November Grooms of the Month: Kaylan and Kyle

Good Morning! Hope everyone is staying warm in these freezing cold temps the past few days! Tricia and I have two amazing weddings left this year and are quickly filling our 2015 schedules. Our wedding this weekend is with these two hunks (seriously, don't they look like models?!) and we could not be more excited! Tricia and I met these two at a photo shoot we designed earlier this year for 100 Layer Cake you can see here! Kaylan and Kyle, we are honored to have worked with you on your big day!

Wedding Date & Location: November 22, 2014 at The Carnegie Institute of Science

Tell us the story of how you two met: We first met on September 8, 2011 through OkCupid, an online dating website. The first date was at Jack Rose Dining Saloon, and I was 15 minutes late! Oops. Even though it's one of Kyle's pet peeves, my southern charm must have made up for my lack of punctuality because as we parted for the night, Kyle popped under my umbrella and stole a kiss in the rain.

How did you pop the question? The day of the proposal, Kyle planned activities around all those things couples say, "Oh, we should do that!" but never make time for. We started at Ted's Bulletin - Cap Hill for breakfast and a boozy milkshake . . . after that, Top Golf playing games on the driving range followed by mini golf . . . dinner later that night at Restaurant Nora. (Fun fact: It was also the same day the Supreme Court announced its decision to strike down DOMA and Prop. 8.)

Before Kyle popped the question at the Jefferson Memorial, it started to rain just like it did on our first date. Once the shock wore off and a resounding 'YES,' we announced we were engaged with a Snapchat.

My engagement ring is the Trinity de Cartier, which consists of three bands, each a different type of gold in pink for love, yellow for fidelity, and white for friendship, intertwined in harmony.

What is the vision and design for your wedding? The vision and design for our wedding is simple and clean with masculine lines and elements of men’s tailoring. We love mixing modern metallics with traditionally rustic pieces.

What are you most looking forward to on your Big Day? Seeing all of the hard work come together, seeing friends and family, and of course, celebrating getting married!

Where are you planning to kick your feet up when the party is over? (honeymoon plans!) Key West for a week immediately following the wedding…warm weather and ditching turkey & stuffing for surf & turf on Thanksgiving day!
