Hello everyone! This week is probably our busiest week of the year. With two weddings last weekend and two more this weekend Tricia and I have been going non-stop! We are both so fortunate to work in such a unique area. Last weekend we were out in the country at horse farms and this weekend we will be in the heart of DC. We are blessed to be able to have such various scenery for all of our events!

One that stands out to me the most was this beautiful country wedding at Riverside on the Potomac. Though the weather wasn't cooperating, the barn was equally as beautiful for hosting both the ceremony and reception. Hello snow bunnies! When is winter going end? At this point my early Spring weddings are going to be freezing cold! I love the snow, but I'm over all the wetness. UGH! Tricia and I have been busy gearing up for the Spring wedding season and meeting our newly engaged. We can't wait to make all the loveliness!! Our next wedding is in beautiful Charlottesville. Tricia and I LOVE the area and want to do more and more there!! I can't wait to see her wedding come to life!

Hello February! I am welcoming you with open arms! I have so much amazing-ness scheduled this month I can barely contain myself!!!!!! A big photo shoot for Wedding Wire, a fabulous ski trip with my 15 closest friends, a gorgeous wedding in DC, and 4 of my favorite Texas bands are coming up for a concert together! My gorgeous wedding happens to be for this lovely lady below. Not only is she beautiful, but she is the sweetest thing ever!

How did Dave pop the question: We were in Richmond, VA for the Christmas Holiday and made plans to go out to dinner with all of our friends. We arrived at the restaurant and there was a cute little band playing. I love live music and wanted to stay longer to listen (I obviously had no idea what the rush was to leave). With a little prodding, we headed out and over to our friends house. They always decorate with Christmas lights and were going to have the big reveal. Alex, Davids best man, asked me to let him know when the roof lights came on. There I am waiting and waiting, and doing a little more waiting when I finally saw lights that read "Marry Me, Amanda?" I was in shock and just remember saying "Wait, what?" over and over. Finally, someone told me to turn around. When I did, there was David, down on one knee, asking me to marry him.

Tell us the story of how you two met: David and I met through a mutual friend at Virginia Tech. We instantly had a connection but the timing was not right for either one of us. We remained in contact over the next three years at college. Then one day in 2010, he asked me on a date and officially moved out of the friend zone.
What are you most looking forward to on your Big Day: We are most looking forward to committing ourselves to each other and starting this new and wonderful adventure. We are also excited to have our family and friends there to celebrate with us. We thank everyone for their love and support!
Where are you planning to kick your feet up when the party is over: We are escaping the cold weather and headed to California. We plan to stay in San Diego a few days and then just drive up the coast and wing it...true Cali style.

AVE got an early start to the 2014 wedding season. Only a few short weeks ago, we had the pleasure of working with Jessica and her fabulous mother Gail. Her wedding reception was in the Club House at the beautiful Lansdowne Resort. I highly recommending using the Club House for receptions if you are looking into the resort. They have beautiful big windows overlooking the golf course and a big private terrace for your guests. The lobby also makes for an excellent and comfy cocktail hour.
The wedding decor had elements of periwinkle and silver scattered throughout the venue. They had a delish cupcake bar with a delicate two tier wedding cake for the traditional cake cutting. The design on the wedding cake was modeled after her mother's wedding dress. That is such a unique way to tie in family! The bride and groom also surprised their guests when they changed into funny beach attire for their last dance and sparkler departure. All the wedding guests were laughing historically. Such an unexpected way to finish off the night!
