Tieks Review!

I survived the biggest weekend of the year so far! Knowing how tough this weekend would be on my body, I did some research on new event shoes. My old, el cheapo, horrendously uncomfortable shoes would just not cut it. I follow a couple wedding photographer blogs and kept seeing people rave about these shoes called Tieks. Photographers kept saying they were the most comfortable shoes for event professionals on the market! After doing research I was surprised to see how popular they were. The shoes are on Oprah's "O List" and are constantly spotted on celebrities! I decided to pull the trigger and I LOVE them! They offer tons of support and have the most supple leather I've ever put on my feet.  I bought the matte black and they are perfect to dress up with my LBD or dress down in jeans and a t-shirt! They have a million color options and I can't wait to get my next pair. I think I'll go for pink, gold or nude (or maybe all three)!!

Sneak Peek of Wedding Wire Shoot!

Tricia and I were beside ourselves when we were approached by Wedding Wire to design a feature for their upcoming Spring E-Magazine. We love doing photo shoots and collaborating with our favorite vendors to make these fun ideas and visions we have come to life. Tricia and I created an over the top, colorful bridal shower for our models.

The shoot was seriously the most fun day ever. Surrounding ourselves with friends and family and being able to call it work is literally a dream come true. A big THANK YOU (times a million) to our vendors and models for supporting this beautiful shoot. Check out the sneak peek below! We will be sure to share the entire feature once it's released on Wedding Wire.

Calligraphy Class with Meant to Be Calligraphy!

Tricia and I had a wild weekend full of fun! We had a amazing shoot for Wedding Wire and took a fun calligraphy class from one of our local favorite calligraphers Michele, with Meant to Be Calligraphy. Tricia and I had been looking forward to this class for SOOOOOO long! We offer vintage chalkboards as a part of our rental line and  we needed to upgrade our writing style. I usually put Tricia on "chalkboard duty" but since our wedding schedules have been so busy, we've been doing our own weddings most weekends. I needed help BIG TIME!

The class was held on Capital Hill at the beautiful studio of Karson Butler Events. The class was intimate, only 8 students, so we had lots of one on one time. Michele walked us through everything from understanding the equipment, to writing each letter of the alphabet (in both upper and lower case), and putting all those together to actually write some sentences! Tricia is definitely has more patience for this than I do. Check out some pictures of the class below, but excuse the quality! iPhone pics :(

Till next time, planning planning!! Cheers!

Salon Selections for Wedding Wire Shoot!

Last weekend, Tricia and I headed to one of the best bridal salons in the area, Bella Bridesmaids. The owner Lacey is donating some of her amazing dresses for our big Wedding Wire photo shoot this weekend. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for bridesmaid dresses. They seriously have every color, style, and size imaginable. I am a huge LuluKate lover (some may classify it as a fanatic ;) ) and they are the only retailer with their brand in town. Lacey was kind enough to allow us to come in and take over the salon with our models. We selected about 5-6 dresses for the models to try on to figure out which would go best with our vision. Check out some of the ones that didn't make the cut along with some pictures of their amazing salon!

Please forgive me for my horrible iPhone pictures.  We can't wait to share more sneak peeks leading up to the big day!

Till next time, happy planning!! Cheers!

My newest obsession: Red Carpet Manicure

Hey y'all! Another wonderful winter day in Virginia! Some people think I am crazy, but if it's going to be freezing cold like this I want to see snow on the ground. I love snow. It's so cute to see my pups running around it in. They get so excited and look so silly. Makes my heart melt!

Today I want to introduce you to my favorite Christmas gift and my newest obsession; Red Carpet Manicure. Doing events, working on numerous DIY projects,  and working on a farm make my nails look horrible, all.the.time. About a year ago I had gel nails done at the salon every 2-3 weeks, but it's so time consuming and gets expensive. It's a huge pet peeve of mine to have chipped nails, which is what made me infatuated with gel vs regular polish. My momma raised me better than that! A few of my girl friends told me about Red Carpet Manicure, an at home gel kit. I was immediately intrigued. Gel nails are the best thing for girls that are constantly getting into elbow deep into stuff. After dropping several hints to my fabulous mother-in-law I received the Red Carpet Nails Pro Kit, Removal Kit, and a couple pink polishes. This thing is amazing! I used to think gel nails from the salon were the best thing since sliced bread, but the at home kit is literally the bees knees.

I used to only see this brand at Ulta, but I recently spotted it at Target too. I was a little sad at the limited selection of polishes, but they have a TON of fun colors as you can see below. You can find 100 different options on their website here!

I hope everyone that tries it loves it as much as me!

Till next time, happy planning!! Cheers!

New Marketing Material!

If you haven't noticed, we looooooooove our new brand. Along with our new brand we needed all new marketing material. I designed these lovely postcard sized brochures and all new business cards. The design for the postcard I created on Powerpoint and converted into PDF (so sorry if it's not perfectly centered!!). We print out material through Moo.com. The quality and price of their products are fantastic! I will admit I was super concerned about having our faces on the business card. I wasn't sure if it was too realtor-ish. I have received so many compliments on them and how much easier we are to remember (although really, who can't remember these faces, just kidding!!).

Take a look below and let us know what you think!

Till next time, happy planning!! Cheers!
